Are You Accepting God’s Word By Listening And Obeying It?

Hebrews 3:7 - 4:13

Rev. Andrew Londal

In this thoughtful and inspiring new book, pastor and New York Times bestselling author Timothy Keller invites skeptics to consider that Christianity is more relevant now than ever.  As human beings, we cannot live without meaning, satisfaction, freedom, identity, justice, and hope.  Christianity provides us with unsurpassed resources to meet these needs.  Written for both the ardent believer and the skeptic, Making Sense of God shines a light on the profound value and importance of Christianity in our lives.

Faith in Jesus Christ brings one into God’s Kingdom

Christ Church, Pinetown, is a member of the denomination, Reformed Evangelical Anglican Church of South Africa (REACH-SA).

The church was established by Frank Howell and has grown steadily since its inception from a chapel seating no more than 50 congregants to the present building which is capable of accommodating close on 900 persons.

The leadership of CCP firmly believes the Bible is God’s final Word to mankind.  The denomination has the maxim, “God’s Word above All Things”. Our view, both as a local church and as REACH-SA, is that Scripture is free from error plus we do  not adhere to extra Biblical revelation.  We contend that God has spoken and continues to speak through His Word alone.  In addition, CCP is of the conviction that salvation is found in none other than Jesus Christ and that He is the one and only Mediator between human beings and a Holy God.

CCP’s view is that entry to God’s Kingdom, also referred to as God’s Family, is achieved through repentance and faith in Jesus Christ.  Good works will not in and of themselves achieve an eternal relationship between God and people, whether individual or collective.  Rather, acts of charity are evidence of being born again in Christ.  Each person needs to recognize their own personal rejection of God and His demands on the individual,  the need of a Saviour to restore the broken relationship between themselves and  God, the Giver of all life,  with Jesus Christ being the only One to restore that broken bond.

It is also our view that God’s Spirit communicates to God’s people through His Word, the Bible.

The Church’s mission,” knowing  Jesus and making Him known” is in keeping with Scripture.  This motto is drawn from Jesus’ final word to His disciples in Matthew’s Gospel, chapter 28 verse 19, “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the Name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit”.......... (ESV).

CCP and REACH-SA adheres to the 39Articles of Religion as contained in the 1662 Book of Common Prayer.
